Goals

The Pathways Program at Guizhou University of Nationalities works to improve students’ academic, professional, and leadership skills and experience. The University’s Pathways program is focused on improving or developing:

  • Students' academic abilities in subjects like computer and language skills
  • Academic and professional mentoring and consulting services
  • Students’ social activities

Target Population
Ethnic minorities, such as the Miao, Buyi, Dong and Shui, as well as approximately 3,200 low-income students.

Outcomes
Through the Pathways program, the Institute has:

 

 

 

  • Provided academic assistance and computer, Mandarin and English language training. These trainings helped approximately 400 students to integrate into city and professional life, as well as improved their academic and testing skills.
  • Supported student organizations like the Son of the Mountain group, which provides computer, English, and career training for students from mountainous and rural regions.
