To achieve this mission, the Pathways group is focused on improving or developing:

  • A report on the economic status of low-income students
  • A university policy that raises awareness of and supports low-income students throughout their university experience
  • Policies that aid low-income students’ professional development

Target Population
Regional low-income students, who comprise 25% of the province’s population, and ethnic minorities, such as Tibetans, Mongolians, Huis, Mans, Zhuangs, and others

Outcomes
To date, the Pathways group has:

  • Conducted two surveys on the needs and difficulties facing low-income students, distributing approximately 1,000 questionnaires to students at various universities. The data is currently being analyzed to assess employment opportunities and develop career brochures.
  • Published an employment brochure providing career assistance.

* The Shaanxi Provincial Educational Bureau is a governmental organization that works with all the university Pathways programs in the Shaanxi area.
